About Joelle Froese and In Stride Training...
Joelle was born and raised in Abbotsford and began riding when she was 7 years old. Her family moved to Bradner Hill Farms in 1999 where they have been ever since. She grew up caring for and riding horses from foals, through the starting process, all the way into the competition ring. She has competed in show jumping across Canada as well as in the United States, including Thunderbird, Spruce Meadows, Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, HITS Desert Classic, and Sonoma Show Park. In 2009 Joelle won Bronze at North American Young Riders (senior division) on her first grand prix horse Condor. That year they went on to win champion in the amateur jumpers and third in the National Talent Squad Finals at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.. She opened In Stride Equestrian Training in 2013 to help horses and riders at all ages and stages achieve their goals. In 2016 she won her first grand prix, the $15,000 Kubota Grand Prix at Thunderbird on her mare, Romeos Child. Romeos Child went on to win the BCHJA Luigi Grand Prix Horse of the Year award in 2017 and 2018. Joelle won the CWD 1.30m Saddle Series in 2018 and 2019. She competed in a World Cup Qualifier on Al Capone 2 and finished 12th. Along the way she trained with several top professionals, including Canadian Olympian Jill Henselwood, US Olympian Buddy Brown, US Nations Cup rider Susie Hutchinson, and British team rider Kate Perrin, and competed in Third Level dressage under Pan Am rider Sandra Verde-Zanatta. In 2022 Joelle became an Equestrian Canada certified High Performance 1 coach. Joelle uses her attention to detail and extensive education to bring out the best possible partnership between each horse and rider. Her students develop their own feel by learning clear, coordinated aids in a positive, good humored environment.
